The Monarch of Minnesota hockey inks business alliance with Logistics Company - and tells some great hockey tales in new book
Eagan, Minnesota - Since leaving the world of NHL hockey in 1990, legendary player and executive Lou Nanne has had great success off the ice as a businessperson and broadcaster. Now Nanne's elevated his public profile even more with a new book and a deal to become the spokesperson for K2 Logistics.
When asked to partner with K2 Logistics, the former Gopher and Minnesota North Star player - who says he's never made a deal he didn't like - says he shared a "passion to be successful" with the company. "K2 Logistics is a growing company that has the know-how and expertise to make their customers distribution more efficient, and profitable," noted Nanne. "It's all about exceeding expectations. This is a great fit for me."
Headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, K2 Logistics focuses on single-source supply chain management with airfreight, ground, and international services. The company strives to simplify its customers' global and local supply chain, conveying innovative solutions to logistics and transportation needs.
K2 Chief Strategy Officer Tom Lehmann commented about the marketing partnership, which will portray Nanne's business savvy and grit: "We're driven to deliver customized solutions for our clients, an attribute Lou Nanne exhibited both as a player and business executive. We're delighted he's joined our K2 Logistics team."
Nanne certainly exceeded expectations as general manager of the North Stars, bringing the team from last place to the playoffs in just two years, followed by the Stanley Cup finals a year later. As a businessperson and spokesman, he embraces that same passion for a good challenge. "K2 is like a young hockey team. They are building a winner, and I am pleased to be a small part of it."
While Nanne's keeping busy lending his face to K2 Logistics, he's also anxiously anticipating the October 1 release of the book he co-authored with Bob Showers, a former employee of the North Stars. Minnesota North Stars History and Memories with Lou Nanne, a 247-page coffee table-size book, chronicles behind-the-scenes, never-before-told stories of his wheeling and dealing days as president and general manager of the Minnesota North Stars. Its release commemorates the 40th anniversary of the former NHL team. Nanne will donate all of his proceeds from the book to two of his favorite hockey charities: The Glen Sonmor University of Minnesota Hockey Scholarship Fund and the USA Hockey Foundation. Beavers Pond Press (www.beaverspondpress.com ) is publishing the book. |
